Remember fourth grade Social Studies when you were taught that in olden times people believed the Earth was flat? While we all know the world s round, Middle World really is flat. Hence it does have edges you may fall off of.
The edges appear to be tall cliffs that go on forever. Bordering the cliffs are lush green plains full of rolling hills and glittering lakes. As you continue 'inwards', to the north is a rich forested area, but to the south is a barren, red desert with only one oasis and plenty of perils. The desert and forest are divided by a wide, deep river which begins in Bethanos. Bethanos is the only major city of Middle World, and is situated in the fertile valley within a ring of mountains, which are surrounded by the afore mentioned desert and forest.
