Leppies are one of the cuddliest and most affectionate creatures inhabiting Middle World. They are akin to a cat or dog in their behavior and relationships to humans.
They have a long body, much like a ferret or weasel, but with very soft, fine fur. Their heads are also like that of a ferret, but they lack sharp teeth- leppies are herbivores. These cuddly little creatures have six legs, each with blunt, retractable claws on the end. These claws and the six legs allow them to have a versatile life- they're very good for both digging and climbing, and lend balance to the creatures. Unfortunately, the legs are rather short and not the greatest for running fast, but they still can walk at a brisk pace.
Their coloration ranges from green to gold to brown to black to gray, and it's a fashion to have your leppy with you at all times by letting them drape their long bodies around your shoulders- a position they enjoy immensely. Some patterns a leppy hide may have are brindle, roan, spots, and etcetera. Just like no two dogs or cats looked alike on Earth, no two leppies look the same.
A leppy is easy to care for because he or she will eat nearly any type of flora- bark, grass, fruit, flowers, roots, leaves, nuts, and fruit. There is no plant in Middle World that is poisonous to the leppy. However, they do tend to avoid certain plants. Leppies adore fruit in particular from all other food options, and will do nearly anything to get it. It's advised to plant a fruit tree near your home -or quite a few that bear fruit at different seasons, for that matter- in order to keep your leppy away from neighbors' gardens.
