"I'm bored."
"I know."
"I don't like it."
"I know."
"You seem to 'know' everything."
"Heh. I know." A sapphire-eyed teenager, on his back in the shade of a tree, grinned up at his best friend. The girl was in a tree, sitting in one of the branches as others would a bench. She laughed and threw a twig at him. Krion yelped, rolling aside and scrambling to his feet, sticking out his tongue. "Missed me!"
"Yeah, I know." The girl laughed again, distractedly brushing aside tangled strands of brown hair. Tiny natural highlights glittered golden in the fading sunlight that reached her through the trees, and for the billionth time in his eight years of knowing her, Krion almost brought up the old argument: whether or not the tomboyish girl could be called pretty in any right. But he was well aware that she'd deny it, and probably throw him in a pond.
Abruptly, the teenager jumped down from the branch, stumbling a bit so that Krion jumped forward to seize her elbow to steady her. "Careful silly."
"Who you calling silly?" Fia mock-scowled, but was distracted. "Oh, look!" The girl pointed at large pond, which she'd somehow missed from her position in the tree. "C'mon!"
"It's almost sundown," Krion protested half-heartedly, but had to laugh as the girl dragged him towards the water. She tugged off her shoes and jacket and splashed in up to her knees. With an evil grin, the tall fourteen-year old turned and sent a huge splash of water towards her friend. The boy stood soaked and silent on the shore before suddenly jumping in and splashing her back. She squeaked -no, not like a girl, like some sort of animal- and a fierce water-war promptly began.
Yep, this was normal behavior, though anyone passing by for an evening stroll might think the two were crazy.

((Well, I know they aren't officially accepted or anything.. but... I don't want to just leave you hanging and I want to RP. So, give me a sec, and I'll reply with my former pirate twins. ^^))
"Hey, the rent is due for the apartment tomorrow, remember?" Raven asked as he walked alongside his twin sister through the park. He knew she probably remembered, but it never hurt to bring it up.
Narina grinned turned her head and shot her brother a wry grin. "No problem. I can get the money together when we get home." She replied casually. "We might even be able to just deliver it now if you've got any cash..." She stuck her fingers into her small pockets on her skirt to see if she had any folded up bills inside. How there were even pockets, even tiny ones, on it was unbelievable. The thing was quite short, shorter than most girls would think of wearing. Then again, Narina didn't dress like most girls. Actually, she barely dressed at all. Short skirts, boots, and two bikini-like tops criss-crossing over her chest. Needless to say, it showed her figure well. She also wore an assortment of necklaces and bracelets, and had a habit of wrapping a bandanna on her head with a pair of sunglasses resting on top, her long blond hair spilling out.
Raven also fished around in his pockets for some cash, but only had a few small coins. "Nope, sorry, no bills. We can just do it later." He was dressed more simply, with a jacket, pants, boots, as well as a bandanna on his head, his own blond hair just peaking out from underneath.
You could tell they were twins from the moment you set eyes on them. Blond hair, aqua blue eyes, and similar clothing choices and colors. If you ever got to know them, you'd realize they acted very similarly as well.
"Fine by me." Narina replied with a small shrug. "I love not having to worry about money." She said with a rather mischievous smile, then paused when she saw they had entered the hearing range of two people, looking like they were only about three years younger, splashing around in the lake.

"You win, you win!" Krion yelled, thoroughly soaked and out of breath. The "fight" had lasted a good fifteen minutes, and ended with both teens dripping wet and worn out.
"Ah! Once again, I am victorious!" Fia declared triumphantly, laughing and spinning in circles, about five feet away. How she could do so, with her pants and shirt soaked and heavy, Krion wasn't sure, but concluded that if she could swim like that, she could spin like that.
The girl was suddenly alert, having heard voices on the breeze. "People!"
Sure enough, a couple of people -siblings, looked to be twins, even- were approaching. Or had been. Krion looked rather... well, his expression as he noted the young woman's clothing was "...eh..." As in, something's not quite... correct.... there. Fia, to whom the thought of 'revealing clothing' was a thing of absolute terror, managed not to let her distaste show on her face. Must not judge people, must not judge people... Krion hastily altered his expression to curiosity. The two probably 'got that all the time', so he wasn't gonna stare. It was rude.
"Hey-a!" Fia called cheerfully, waving as they headed ashore. "How ya doin' this evening?" Her words were interrupted by a violent sneeze.
"Eee! Nasty! You've caught a cold and made yourself look like an idiot. Hold still." Krion picked up the girl's own jacket and threw it in her face, laughing.
"Ow! Jerk!" Fia glared, brown eyes bright, but couldn't stifle her own laughter. With a grin in the strangers' direction, she complained loudly "Get the police, this guy's harassing me!"
"Aw, she's more than capable of handling the situation!"
"Darn right I am!" The next moment saw Krion sitting in the water, sighing at his situation, and Fia beaming triumphantly.

Staring? Didn't phase her. Not the slightest. Narina was quite used to staring. She got looks from plenty of boys. Not that she minded it. And not that she wasn't really asking for it. Most of them time she liked it anyway. And then flaunted herself a bit more just for the fun of it.
Raven too had often found himself being fawned over by attractive girls. He certainly didn't complain.
Although neither of them, though beautiful, were someone you really wanted to spend a lot of time around. Unless of course you were like them. If not, they would manipulate you so fast and dump you before you even knew what hit you.
"Well, it's a good thing we don't have to get the police involved. They aren't exactly my most favorite people." Raven replied smoothly with a grin, hinting that he and the police probably weren't on the best of terms. He more lived by the theory of 'it's not really a crime unless you get caught,' and he had yet to get convicted of anything he may or may not have done.
"And really, a cutie like him, could he really be that much of a harassment?" Narina asked amusedly, giggling a little and smiling playfully. Oh she was playing with them alright.

Heh. Neither of them cared to stare at people, whatever their appearances might be.
Fia grinned a bit at Raven's words. "That so? Huh. I dunno any police, so I don't know if I like 'em or not." And while her parents would mst certainly not approve of her associating with people who thought like: 'it's not really a crime unless you get caught,' she didn't actually care.
Krion, exiting the water to stand beside Fia gain, looked rather unnerved by Narina's words. He, like so many other boys, had no idea what to make of compliments, even playful or teasing ones. He did flush slightly, grinning a bit. Fia's eyes flashed, though her expression didn't change, and Krion's uneasiness grew as his friend was silent for a moment.
"He manages," was the girl's eventual response, and Krion thanked the universe that her tone wasn't icy. The girl was so incredibly protective... the last girl to give him a semi-flirty glance had ended up tied to a tree-trunk in the middle of the Park, sprting several painful bruises. At two in the morning, when she regained consciousness. Though he HIGHLY doubted that Fia would pick a quarrel with these people. She wasn't that stupid.
"She can handle herself..." he repeated timidly, afraid to set off his friend's temper.

"Well, they certainly aren't friends of ours." Raven chuckled, sticking his hands inside his jacket pockets. "I don't suggest getting to know them. Aren't the nicest people around. At least in my opinion." He grinned again. "Though, I can gladly say I haven't associated with any of them in quite some time."
Narina watched Krion for a moment, noticing how he seemed uncomfortable about the compliment. And, did Fia's eyes just flash? A little jealous maybe? Narina could certainly have some fun with the two of them. That kind of fun was just up her ally.
"I'm sure you both do." Narina replied easily, wondering whether or not she should throw in a wink toward Krion for the fun of it. She fought off the urge. For now at least.
"So, enjoying a nice swim... at almost twilight?" Narina asked, cocking her head slightly to the side, clasping her hands behind her back, and rocking back and forth ever so slightly on the balls of her feet as she looked at Fia and Krion, wondering just what they had been doing. It had seemed a bit silly to her.

Krion, deciding to try and avoid any conversation with the girls at the moment, looked at Raven. "Really? I met one police man... nice enough. Although... I was about six." A sheepish grin spread across his face, blue eyes lightening a little bit - goodness knew why, they just did. "So I may not remember right. I just he tried to stop us killing each other." The boy tilted his head at the girl beside him. "Oh! Sorry! I'm Krion."
"And I'm Fia," the other teenager said automatically, tone and expression polite, unless you counted the dark shade her eyes had taken on. She was aware that the woman was probably joking. The irritation was an automatic response. Goodness knew why. But she didn't... actually... mind it. Heh. Nah, not jealous, exactly. Just... protective? Again, goodness knew.
"Water fight," she explained, shrugging a bit. "I was bored." Another sudden sneeze interrupted her and she let out a soft, animal-like growl/sigh. "Bad idea, turns out." Still damp, though not soaked, the teenager gave the setting sun a glare. "Darn you, sun, WHY must you set so fast?" she yelled, waving a fist as it, looking thoroughly ticked off and totally and completely mad.
A few moments later, she stopped glaring and looked rather apprehensive. For absolutely no reason whatsoever, she decided that this time of evening was a bad time to be out. It was suddenly one of those things that just... scared her. There were a lot, and they avoided them whenever possible, including: a certain building in Business District, a small, polished wooden carving of a legendary phoenix that Krion's mother owned, and the scent of the collar of his father's long-dead Koma. Why these things worried her was a mystery, and why this time of day had been added was equally mysterious, but there was no arguing with her about it. And now she was uneasy and starting to fidget. Thankfully, she wasn't actually getting frightened.

"I'm Raven. And this is my twin sister," "Narina." She supplied.
No harm in giving out their names. Fia and Krion had no idea who they were anyway. It's not like they had some grand reputation or anything anyway. Even their little gang of sorts didn't have much of a reputation. They tried to lay low and not bring much attention to themselves. It certainly made things a lot easier, in more ways than one.
"Water fight huh." Narina smiled and nodded. It was more of a statement then a question. Narina loved the water, and she loved to swim. Although, it was unsure which she liked more: swimming, or wearing her aqua blue bikini.
Raven was also partial to water. Whether he was in it or just near it, it was calming. He probably opt to live on the water given the chance. Being near the water just felt right to him, though he was a bit unsure why. Not that he minded. He spent plenty of time relaxing near the ponds and even the lake with Narina, seeing as they had plenty of free time on their hands, not having to worry about school or work.
"Something wrong?" Raven asked, looking at Fia a bit curiously. He was pretty good at reading changes in peoples' expressions, as was Narina, and Fia had stopped her unnecessary glaring and now looked nervous. What she had to be nervous about was beyond him.

"Nice to meet you," Krion said with an honest smile, nodding brightly. Well, even if he had heard of them from somewhere, he'd have stayed out of their 'business' with the police.
"Yeah," he added. "My nutcase friend likes water..." The boy broke off and looked at said friend, puzzled. What was with her, anyway?
Then he suppressed an"Aw, shoot..." Wonderful. The girl was acting paranoid again... why now? He poked her shoulder and got a very agitated "Do that again and I'll kill ya" look. Which he took to mean: "There's something freaky going on here...!"
Fortunately, she wasn't frightened. Still just uneasy. The girl looked back at Raven. "No, not really. Thought I heard something."
"Maybe there's a..." Krion trailed off, not very enthusiastic about speaking of the terrifying Soulless, even if he was making it up. He was currently more worried than scared, though. His friend's "psychological thing" (as they laughingly called it) was not something he particularly wanted to be made public. Even her parents weren't properly aware of it. He'd been the only one she trusted enough to explain to.
"Maybe," Fia muttered, playing along, and glad for an 'excuse'. She made a mental note to thank her friend later, and settled for glancing at him with a look of pure gratitude.

Narina shrugged. "Dunno what it was." She said, glancing around herself to see if there was anything abnormal around. She felt comfortable, and saw Raven did too, nothing really scared them. When you lived life the way she and Raven did, there wasn't much to be scared of. Then again, they had never run into a Soulless or anything. A thing like that might change their opinion. Until then though, they were pretty much fearless.
"Alright then." Raven replied, thinking that they were probably covering up something they didn't want to share. It seemed like it. But, if the knowledge wasn't valuable to him, he wouldn't ever bother trying to get it. Too much effort.
"Y'know, I almost thought I heard something too." Narina added, looking off to the right. "I wonder what it.... Ah, there you are precious!" The girl said happily as the bushes shifted for a moment. Out stepped a Koma.
She was pitch black with the exception of silver bands around each of her legs, just above her paws, and two at the end of her tail. The only other marking on her was a splattering of red across her hindquarters. In all actuality, it looked a lot like blood had been splattered on her, and it was a little unnerving to look at. It never bother Raven or Narina though.
"This is Saia." Narina said, turning her head briefly towards Fia and Krion to tell them. Then she looked back at the Koma and motioned for her to come over. Saia padded over and gladly jumped into Narina's waiting arms, and the girl stroked her affectionately.

Well, if Fia knew WHAT the danger WAS, she wouldn't be scared. In fact, the thought of Soulless hardly fazed her (though the thought of running into one was rather chilling). But, she had no idea what was creeping her out, so she could hardly act fearless. Fearless of Soulless. The thought distracted -and amused- her.
Krion was just glad Raven didn't press the subject. And the sun wa setting quickly, so it would be dark soon enough. They weren't expected home 'til late, and he was spending the night at her house (camping out in the backyard! Fun!), so no worries... And Fia had been distracted by the Koma anyhow.
"Aw, cool!" The girl looked excited, eyes bright as she peered curiously at the creature. "She's beautiful! Saia? Cool name. Kri, can we get a Koma?"
"Wha-?!" The boy was shocked. "How? From where? We have pets! And 'a' Koma?"
"We could share it!" The tenager gave him a pleading look, but he shook his head, eyebrows raised to indicate that they would discuss it later. Well, 'plot' it later, more like, but let's not get technical... Fia stuck out her tongue, but subsided.
"She's pretty cool. We have leppies," Krion added, offhandedly. "Cuddly, but not as..."
"Elegant and aweseeome as Komas," Fia finished, still eyeing the creature admiringly.
Hm. Animals were good distractions from terror. Krion made a mental note to get Fia a Koma on her next birthday. Or whenever. He didn't care which.

"Thank you. She is, isn't she." Narina replied, nuzzling Saia as the Koma rubbed her head on the underside of Narina's chin. Besides Saia and Raven, Narina never acted caring or affectionate to anyone. But Saia was her 'little precious.'
"Leppies, huh? We thought about getting a Leppy once, but then Saia came along and we just decided one pt was enough for now. We got her from a friend of ours. He basically breeds them. Not technically, but he has quite a few, and every once in a while there is a litter. So we've had Saia basically since she was born." Raven explained, reaching over to give Saia a pat.
"It's nice because she can find her own food and hunt for herself. She's almost at the apartment as much as we are, which is hardly ever." Narina said with a laugh. "And, well, if you ever wanted a Koma, I suppose we could hook you up..." She trailed off, leaving the offer open if they ever wanted to take it. Of course, they would probably want a small something in return. Nothing was ever really free with them.

A little fond of her, was she?
A quick glance of unreadable expression passed between the teens, stating the above sentence.
"Yeah? Our critters are siblings. How old is she?" Krion asked, curious but polite. He wondered vaguely if Silver was behaving at home, and hoped distractedly that his mom wouldn't forget to feed her before he picked her up. Jet liked playing with her, so she'd come along to Fia's place with him.
Fia's eyes lit up at Narina's words, but both caution and courtesy suppressed any more reaction. "Really? That's really nice of you..."
Another look passed between them, a slight warning frown from Krion and a fleeting grimace of reassurance from her.
"Though, we do already have have our leppies... so not any time soon, thank you anyhow."
Well, truth be told, neither would expect them to do anything without something in return. In fact, they'd both feel guilty and embarrassed, if they did.
"Does she let strangers touch her?" was the not-so-subtle question that the girl didn't quite manage to hold back. Krion rolled his eyes, but smiled a little. His friend really was fond of animals.

"She's about five. We got her about a year after moving into our apartment." Narina answered, petting Saia idly. "It's cute that your pets are siblings." She said with a smile. "And, ok. The offer is always open if you change your mind later." She told them truthfully and Raven nodded in agreement. Though, the likelihood of finding Narina and Raven often if you weren't one of their close friends probably didn't run very high. But, you never know!
Narina looked at Fia, registering that it was probably a request to pet Saia. "Well, I guess the only truthful response would be: sometimes. If she doesn't feel threatened and seems to think you're ok, then yeah, she'll let you pet her. If not, you might end up with a nasty scratch." She set Saia down, and the Koma sat by Narina's feet. Both waited to see if Fia wanted to take the chance.

"Cool." Both teens nodded, Krion adding, "Ours are about one. And thank you." Nope, you never know! These two had a habit of bumping into people at random times and places. So they might just run into the twins again, one day.
Sometimes, huh? Krion didn't like the sound of that, and if he'd thought it would work, would have told Fia that. But he didn't think it would work. Just in case, he resigned himself to the possibility of another scratch, as he idly prepared to heal a cut the crazy girl might get.
Fia was willing to take her chances. Nodding and smiling at the creature's owners, she crouched down to the Koma's level, slowly and cautiously extending her hand, watching for any sign of suspicion.
((Permission to scratch. XD))
