THEY LEFT THEIR BABY IN THE CAR BECAUSE THEY WERE PLAYING VIDEO GAMES?!?!?! What the hell is wrong with those people?!?! *fumes* That is just WRONG! SICK! AN OUTRAGE! THOSE IRRESPONSIBLE MONSTERS!
As for the Utah and guns thing, I've heard some stories about it on the news. Since there have been an alarming amount of school shootings, people think that maybe allowing college students to carry guns will decrease the violence. Personally, I don't know which side I'd vote for.

They didn't leave him in the car. The baby was in a car seat in the crib, wearing a snowsuit. So he was where they could hear him. It's....sad.
I don't know either. I think I may have to say...no. At least, I wouldn't feel comfortable unless I had a gun myself on me. Knowing others have it when I don't would be scary.

Oh.... BUT STILL! Very, VERY sad.
I know. It's like, well, maybe people won't be as violent because there will be more guns around and everyone will feel safer, but, then again, if a lot of people had guns, and some didn't, serious issues could arise. Like you said, I'd probably be terrified if others had guns and I didn't have one myself.

I hope they get the death penalty. Really. It's just so awful, and it's not some random murder with loose ends- it's obvious what happened.
Right.
What do you think of the embassy ordeal?

Me too! They don't deserve to live. Much less be parents...
Let me read it. Then I'll tell you. ^^
EDIT: Well, I think Serbia should give Kosovo it's independence. I mean, it's already been recognized as independent by the top leading countries in the world. And Serbians are only 10% of Kosovo's population. And I hope that no one else gets killed by the protests. Like you said, it will be interesting to see what ends up happening.

*hisses violently* I will rip them to shreds if they are allowed to live. *promptly begins ranting about how parents like that are EEEEVIIIIL*
*ignores the outraged dad over there*
Guns? Eh. Even if other people had them, what good would by carrying one do? I could get shot in the back, or miss my target, or not have time to respond. A single gun implies the possibility of violence, setting people on edge. Then more people will bring them, and a fight will inevitably break out in the end. Better to have none at all. They shouldn't exist. (I know, the fact is, they do. But they still shouldn't.)
And... yeah. Give that country or whatever it is independence. Curse fighting over land and things that don't matter.

Right, but it's more of mental thing to have one. I think it'd be better off having none on campus (Utah is the only state that allows this) because it just seems too risky. Yes, the person carrying the gun has to go through rigorous testing in order to keep it concealed, but what about if someone knew a guy had a concealed weapon? They could probably take it by force, if they really wanted.

I agree. It's way too risky.
On to my next topic... STOP ANIMAL CRUELTY! Oh my god. I just saw the most horrifying youtube video in my life. It seriously made me cry. And, I'm only posting about it here because it goes along with informational topics and I thought we could have a discussion about it too. Though, I bet it will just end up being a screaming match at the Chinese and the rest of the world that partakes in it. There are no rules or regulations in regards to animal cruelty and such in China, which is where this took place. I'm sorry if this is a bit disturbing to read, believe me, it was horrifying to watch, I almost turned it off. But, I thought it would be important to know so maybe something could be done to help stop it.
And sorry this is long, but I want to get my point across and narrate what I saw.
So, y'all know the selling of fur, right? The Chinese export millions upon millions of dollars of fur each year. Well, do you know what it takes to get that fur? Here, let me tell you.
Firstly, millions of animals are breed in order to get fur. Foxes, minks, racoon-dogs and many others. These animals are kept in cages, which are in rows, one right next to other. Rows upon rows upon rows, each cage smashed up against the next. At one place the foxes were living in cages of a whopping 54 square centimeters. Horrible. All these animals then develop weird stereotypical behaviors, and pace about back and forth and dig at the corners and other things. Basically, they get stir-crazy to the extreme, and it's really sad because they have nothing to do but sit in their small cage.
But that doesn't even begin to be the saddest part.
Once they are ready to be sent to market, the people grab them by the neck with a rod with a noose on the end, then grab them by the tail and haul them out of the cage and carry them to another one. They are shipped long distances in horrible conditions to the market. Then they are sold. Once the price has been established the poor animal is again hauled out of its cage, and then they are flung against the ground by the hind legs full force in order to knock them out. This is usually done twice, so that the two forceful blows to the head will make them unconscious. They are laid on the ground, where they are usually convulsing, while the same thing is done to a few more, then they are carried over to the slaughter area.
Once at the area, they regain consciousness. The poor things wake up and are again aware of what's going on. So, in order to knock them out, they are beat repeatedly on the head with a wooden rod until they lose concisenesses again. This method is used so that they don't do any damage to the fur. It's sick.
And unfortunately, I'm not done.
This is the most disturbing part. After a short interval, the animal is just starting to regain consciousness AGAIN, for a THIRD time. (You should have seen it's eyes on the video, they were heartbreaking). The animal is then taken and the skinning process begins. The skinning starts at the hind legs. So, they start y cutting a slit into the fur and then begin removing it off of the hind legs with a knife. WHILE THE ANIMAL IS STILL ALIVE! In the video the animal went to go and bite the person causing it so much pain, so he put his foot on the animal's neck in order to hold him down. It was so sad.
Once the fur is removed from the hind legs the animal is hung up, upside down, by it's hind legs from a hook. The animal hangs there, squirming and writhing in pain, making agonizing noises as the skinning continues.
And I quote from the video, "Starting from the hind legs, the worker wrenches the animal's skin from its suspended body until it comes off over the head. Our investigators were able to observe and document that a significant number of animals remained fully concious during the skinning process. Even after their skin has been stripped off, breathing, heart beat, directional body movement, and eyelid are evident for between five and ten minutes."
It was HORRIFYING! The animal was lying there, bloody and moving and blinking and I could barely watch it. It was literally painful to see.
Another quote from the video, "Time after time, our investigators found animals panting and blinking, or fighting back as they were skinned alive."
One fox endured brutal agony for six minutes before it was finally choked to death by the butcher stepping on his neck.
Taken from the video description: "Badger, raccoon, mink, fox and other fur-bearing animals vegetate in wire mesh cages as small as the animals themselves. After a short painful live they are skinned alive. The mortal agony lasts up to half an hour."
So there it is. One of the most GRUESOME THINGS I HAVE EVER SEEN AND HEARD OF IN MY LIFE!
I couldn't bring myself to post the link to the video, my hands are shaking as it is, those images were scaring, and I don't want to be responsible for putting anyone through that. I can't find words to describe how mortifying it was. If you really want to see it, go look it up yourself on youtube by searching "china animal cruelty" and you can find the two part video called "Fun Fur?" Though I do not really recommend watching it.

Ew. Evil.
Although, the fact that they skin them alive is the only part that really surprises me. *glances around at Karachi*
Alright, that's it. *heads off to nag mom into taking us to the nearest "pet store" to see how bad things are*
*looks disgusted* The first thing I do when hunting is kill the things super quick. Gross.
EDIT: We're gonna watch that, and turn it off if it gets too gruesome. We live in a country where some people beat them selves with chains and barbed wire and knives on certain religious days. I'm semi-sure we can handle it.
SECOND EDIT: Won't let us watch the second part. We're not 18. *sighs* But nothing in the first part surprised us.
Kindly remember that many humans here live in similar conditions. Just without the cages.

The first part was fine. Very sad, but fine to watch. It just showed them all couped up in cages going crazy. In fact, here. This is the first video: youtube.com/watch?v=xf6Ab8nNRgIIt's actually very informative and tells of the fur industry and how the animals are kept in horrible conditions. Don't worry, it contains no disturbing content or anything of the sort. It's safe to watch. That second video... *shivers* The second video starts, in my detailed above description, at the line, "But that doesn't even begin to be the saddest part." That was when it all really started and they were taken to the market, slammed on the ground, beaten on the head, and then skinned. Alive. Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. It makes we wonder how people even begin to justify that! Seriously! How the hell would you liked to be beat up an skinned alive?!!? It's just plain wrong. EDIT: Just saw Avi's comment. I know exactly what you mean. I had a very similar feeling.

Then do NOT watch that second part. First part, totally fine. Second part, revolting.
*laughs so hard she falls off the couch* Wow! Now that's a new one. Personally, I would never ever want to spend that much on hair and I find it ridiculous (but extremely hilarious). Whatever floats your boat I guess!

It's probably all yellow and disgusting. I think the only good use for it could be for DNA tests. But ew, who wants to buy a few strands of 200-some year old hair? XD
