Agreed. XD *pokes at the tangled mess*
And no. *falls odd chair laughing* I'll be sure to tell the government it's still working!
*snorts* Stupid idiots. It'll never work. Too many people use YouTube. It's probably a rumor anyhow. You tell your news people that a friend from Pakistan says they don't know a single thing about the country, alright?
Indeed. The world needs to butt out. They want news? Here, this might strike them as a surprise: The poor Pakistanis -particularly the ignorant, uneducated people- are getting ticked off at all the ever-damned interference. I frankly don't care. XP We should do away with separate countries and just have one country: Earth. Don't lecture me on how impossible that is, it's just my opinion among millions.
*rumbles in agreement* As stated, we are not patriotic. America and Pakistan are all the same to us: neither is home.
Ah, question: Is it true that... Obamah or whatever he's called... plans to "act" in Pakistan? It'll be seen as an invasion. *mutters irritably*
EDIT: *looks sheepish* Hey, guys, I didn't mean to sound all angry. It's just annoying when the place you live is suddenly the major thing on the news. People looking for big, scary, dramatic stories that don't concern them...
XP If it sounded like I 'blew up' at any of you, I'm sowwy. I'm not annoyed with you. The governments of the world just bug me.
Adults can't do anything right. *shakes head sadly*

Don't worry, you didn't sound like that to me. And I can agree with you for part of it. Some of the governments really do bug me too. Everyone really just needs to CHILL OUT! That's my theory. Yes. Everyone needs to just chill out and not take everything to the extreme, because, for some reason, that's what they love to do.

The problem is that in a great number of Arab countries something HAS to be done. Terrorism is a real problem, and it concerns the whole world- not to mention the treatment of women in the majority of areas. I don't know about Pakistan in particular, and I'm sure you're not personally exposed to anything like that, but when women can be stoned to death because they were beaten and raped, somebody needs to do something about it. If it has to be an outside country, then it has to be an outside country. I'm not saying invasion and terror wreaked upon the native population, but something has to be done.
I'm sorry if anything I said offends you, but...

Well, I agree it's awful. No one should lose a life for being a victim. But at the same time, you have to give way to the fact that it's part of tradition and religion in these places. It's been around forever. And not everyone takes well to change. So it is a hard thing to change or do anything about. For example, that journalist woman in Saudi Arabia who went in the coffee shop with a man. She was arrested for it. It's absurd, but it's their culture, their law, and she had been prepped on such things before going over there.

Not personally exposed? *raises eyebrows* The escape was narrow. I was too little to remember details. I'll trust you not to repeat that.
So Keeg and I are both aware of how messed up the country is.
They still need to back off. I don't care, but the general population will be furious and retaliate. That'll start a war, no doubt about it. I'm not suggesting that other places are going to march in and take control, but non-Pakistani citizens have to be careful. Even rumors of soldiers would cause riots and destruction in the major cities. Half the people have problems with the Pakistani government. The 'feudal' landlords and such. Another government will be too much. Agreed, Avi, the gender issue is absolutely absurd and I am violently and openly opposed to it, but also agreed, it's their culture. You can't walk in and change their laws. You have to teach them. Respectfully.
In other words, trying to help will just make things worse. And I swear I'll tell the next President that to his or her face if I get a chance.
As stated, I don't personally care. The world is a bloody mess. And the present generation of adults is completely incapable of fixing it.

Sometimes I'm just so disgusted by how messed up things are or seem to be. Culture or not, there is some pretty sick stuff that goes on in the world today. Yeah, I know, it's their culture/traditions and they've been doing it for the past bajillion years and all, but, I just don't agree with some of it. At all. Like Fia said, teach them another way. Respectfully of course, or else they are going to explode and whole new problems are going to erupt. This world is evolving as there are new generations, and people need to keep up with it. There are things we are doing now that people hundreds of years ago never even DREAMED of doing. The idea couldn't even be close to being conceived. And I think the population needs to keep up and change along with the world if we want to make it better. I'm not saying everyone should just disregard everything about their past culture and ancestors' ways, but, just because someone before you did something a certain way, that doesn't mean you have to do it exactly like they did. We wouldn't have gotten anywhere if everyone in the world thought that way. We'd still be sitting in caves banging rocks on bigger rocks and using mammoth bones as forks. Someone somewhere along the line changed their ways of doing things and look where we are now. A lot more civilized and advanced. As I said, as our world continues to evolve and grow, we need to do the same. And, I definately believe that a lot of people are making an effort to help that, and, generally, things are improving. But, there are just some people that are so set in their ways that they refuse to acknowledge that the world around them is changing and they aren't moving with it. And, like Avi said, they don't take well to change. And those people continue on their merry way while some other suffer because of it. And that's why, in my opinion at least, some things, tradition or not, need to stop. And one last thing, to add on to Fia's statement, we are the next generation, maybe ours can make a difference. You never know.

Oh, WE agree. We're the most rebellious and untraditional people in school. We get into shouting matches about how screwed up the traditions are. And we're the only ones who won't be horribly insulted if another country steps in. I did say the 'present generation' of 'adults'. Kids are open-minded enough to accept change. Once they grow up, they'll make all the difference. We already try. It seems to be helping, a little. Thank the Lord our Literature, Geography, and old Science teachers are of similar views on the world. They know that all they can do is teach the children of the world. Too many adults make the mistake of underestimating children. Young minds grasp what old ones can't.
