Elizabeth couldn't remember being happier. It was beautiful day, she had just been accepted for a new job to paint portraits, she had the most wonderful man in the world in her life. And she was going to meet him now- he had asked, and of course she had accepted William's invitation. Why wouldn't she? They had been dating for almost two years, now. The young woman walked about the park cheerfully, finally settling on a bench by the playground, watching the children with a half-smile on her face. She remembered playing on the structure herself, how it was always hanging and never got dull. After Elizabeth had turned ten she rarely came, instead experimenting with her ability. She had never had an artistic ability, never even wanted to learn how to draw, but the ability was....amazing. It let her do things no one else ever would be able to. And it had, in a way, led her to Will. They had met in the art department of the College, and their relationship had steadily blossomed from friends to soemthing more. His ability of sculpting fascinated her, it was unique, whereas her talent had been recorded to have happened to others in the past. They had collaborated on projects, a few combined examples of their work had won small prizes. Speaking of which, maybe it would be fun to replicate the playground on a small scale. One aspect of it, anyways, since it was forever changing...

William's eyes scanned the scenery as he walked along the small, and very familiar, path through the park. It certainly was a beautiful day, the sun was shining and he could hear the birds and various other creatures that inhabited the park. The day got all the more beautiful as he stepped into the small clearing with the playground, the one with the old park bench, where sat his wonderful girlfriend. The moment he saw her in college he knew he just had to get to know her. There was just something so alluring about her. Of course, she was beautiful, but once he got to know her, her beauty only amplified with each thing he learned about her and the closer they got. He had fallen head over heels in love. And after two years of dating he still couldn't get enough of her. Her ability to create portraits from images in her head was astonishing, and he loved each of her gorgeous paintings. He also loves collaborating with her, as they had done many times in college. He would've never guessed college would've been so much fun. "Hello Liz." Will said, smiling brightly as he brought his mind back to the present as he crossed the park, walking over to her.

"Will!" she exclaimed, a smile breaking out on her face. She scrambled from the bench to meet him, but in her eagerness, managed to trip over. Unfortunately, it had rained the night before, and there were rather large puddles about. Elizabeth wasn't particularly clumsy, but some force propelled her straight into the puddle. Which was embarrassing. Very, very embarrassing. She knew she probably shouldn't feel humiliated in front of her long-time boyfriend, but that had been a rather unusual moment. Elizabeth was thankful for one thing as she stood up and futilely tried to wring water from her shirt- at least she hadn't chosen to wear her new white blouse. That could have been even more catastrophic. "Sorry," she apologized lamely to William.

As much as he didn't want to laugh at her, he couldn't help but smile at her clumsiness. It was actually kinda cute, in all honesty. Though, he did try to reach out and catch her before she fell, but he wasn't close enough and thus he failed. Stupid puddles. At least she wasn't wearing a very light color. "You alright?" He asked, reaching her at last, chuckling lightly at her unnecessary apology and tucking a stray hair of hers that had escaped during her fall behind her ear. "You know, I think that puddle should learn some manners. Tripping such a beautiful lady... tsk tsk.." He joked, shaking his head back and forth lightly with a grin.

She turned red, but it quickly faded. "I'm all right," she responded, glaring murderously at the puddle before turning back to William. "We ought to blame the skies. Burn them down," she joked. "Or we could for the puddle police and spend our days walking about with a mop, and making small children cry since they have nothing to splash in. I'm sure murderous mothers would be after us." Elizabeth put her hand in his, and started to stroll down the path with him.

"Wouldn't want that to happen." William replied with teasing grin. "Murderous mothers are not something I look forward to messing with. I hear they can be very dangerous, especially if they travel in packs. Trample us all they would!" He gave Elizabeth's hand a light and affectionate squeeze as he laughed. Then he looked at the sky and smiled. "What a perfect day! I'm so glad the sun is out and it's warm." He commented as they continued walking along the path. "Perfect day for a picnic, don't you think?" He asked, a sly and knowing grin crossing his lips as he glanced sideways at Liz.

"Worse than a dragon missing its egg, I hear," she quipped. She stared up too, the sun hitting her face and making her squint. "It is lovely out. it's not hot either." The gentle warmth from the sunlight was interrupted by a few trees lining the walkway, and the breeze made the leaves whisper to each other. "Yes, it is," Elizabeth said absently. "But as soon as the food's out it will begin to rain." Murphy's Law loves picnics.

"Hmmm." Will replied, rubbing his chin thoughtfully in mock concentration. "Well, maybe we'll have some luck on our side today. It would be a shame to spoil such a lovely picnic!" He sai, just as he gently pulled Liz to one side of the path and moving a tree branch with his free hand. There was a small clearing, and just underneath a rather large tree there was a blanket, set up with an obvious picnic basket, and two glasses sitting next to it. They had sat under that same tree many times before, it had been a favorite spot. It was perfect. Just the right amount of sun and shade, and it was slightly secluded from the rest of the park, being just to the side of the main path.

She laughed. "What are you talking about?" Elizabeth shoved him playfully. "Neither of us even have food on us...oh!" Well, that was very considerate. Then again, what else did she expect? Once more Liz felt incredibly lucky to have Will in her life. Seeing the glasses, she grinned devilishly. Dryly, she said, "It's a bit early for alcohol."

Will laughed. "Now, who said anything about alcohol?" He asked teasingly, guiding her over to the little picnic. "I have lemonade!" He grinned widely, pulling a container of it from behind the basket. "No picnic is really complete without lemonade." He said with a mock sense of philosophical wisdom.

"True, but they have the look of wine glasses. Lemonade is perfect, of course. " She nodded seriously. "And not picnic complete without the Dakdu salad." Liz helped unpack the rest, triumphantly laying out the bread and Dakdu salad.
((Chicken salad, ham salad, Dakdu salad. XD))

((*falls over laughing* I never would've thought of that!))
"But of course." Will agreed. "And, as for the glasses, I thought they would add a nice touch, even without the wine, because you are indeed correct, they really are wine glasses." He explained, just for the fun of it as he filled each glass with the lemonade. He pulled out a container which contained slices of randomly assorted fruit, and a small bag of chips. "Couldn't resist the addition of a bit of junk food." He said with an almost childish grin.

((It makes me hungry. XD))
"Of course, it adds such elegance to the picnic," she teased, using a knife to spread the Dakdu salad onto thick slices of bread. "Chips good. Fruit better. Any pineapple?" Pineapple was the reason people existed: to eat it. If there ever was an ambrosia, it would have been pineapple, sweeter and more flavorful than candy. And with chips was good- salty and sweet made a tasty balance. Elizabeth finished making the first sandwich, passing it to William, and continued her own. "What have you been up to lately?" She had seen him a little less than usual the past two or so weeks. Liz took a bite of her now-finished sandwich, waiting for an answer.

((Yeah, all this talk of food is making me want to go have a grand feast. XD))
"Me? Not bring pineapple?" Will teased, grinning back at her. He knew it was one of her favorites, and made sure it was included. "If I didn't bring any I might as well have never shown my face again." He laughed, opening the container with the fruit inside, revealing that it was the most abundant of the assortment. Reds, oranges, greens, and a lot of yellow, it was quite the array of color inside. "And thank you." He said, gladly taking the offered sandwich, then taking a bite out of one of the corners. Yum. "Hmm.." Will thought as he chewed, thinking of just how he was going to answer that question. He couldn't spoil the surprise. "Oh, nothing much," he began, swallowing his bite, "just the usual. Doing odd jobs around the city to make a bit of extra cash and spread word of my skills so that I can, in turn, get more jobs and help out where I can." Simple enough. Gotta make money! Besides, that was part of the truth. Just not all of it. He couldn't quite yet tell her what he'd been doing with all of his free time.

((Yes. I want pineapple. >.< I love it so much....we had it a couple night ago and I ate almost the entire pineapple.))
She sniffed, and put on a haughty expression. "If you hadn't brought it, I would have had to banish you to the ends of the world. And then find someone who did have pineapple in abundance." Ooh- the fruit salad looked really good. And there was a bunch of pineapple, and some berries, grapes, oranges, and kiwi. Delicious! "You're welcome! It is good. Did you make the Dakdu salad yourself or buy it at the corner?" she teased. Her own sandwich was now missing a few bites. Elizabeth drank some of the lemonade while listening to his next words. "Sounds rather nice. Actually, that reminded me- I got accepted to the job of painting portraits of people. I start in a week or two. The pay isn't the best in the world, but I hope to be promoted soon enough," she grinned. After all, not everyone could paint/draw/sketch as fast or as accurately as she could with her ability.
